rick and morty completely escaped the confines of the fourth wall and explored a space filled with meta commentary in the Season 6 finale, but it turns out the Rick stuffed toy website that Rick Sanchez advertised during the events of the episode was made into reality by Adult Bathing! During the series’ fourth season, Rick and Morty found themselves trapped in a “Story-Train” filled with all sorts of potential adventures for them. But the real kick was that in the “real” world of the show, this train was just a toy that fans could follow a link to and learn more about. Now it happened again.

Revisit the outside commentary on the way rick and morty writing its episodes much like the Story-Train episode, “Never Ricking Morty,” did in season 4, the final episode of season 6 brings back many of those ideas and characters in a fun way. One idea that really brings this whole thing full circle is the “Rick-Plush.biz” website that Rick mentions where his plush is sold, and following that website reveals a hilarious “advertisement” for the toy. Check it out below as spotted by @SirBoyyo on Twitter:

Can you buy Rick’s hilarious new plush?

Sixth-season episode 7, “Full Meta Jackrick”, reintroduces the Story-Train villain, Story Lord, to the series as he escapes meta-space outside the series’ fourth wall and in the “real” world of Rick and morty himself. It is here that the Lord of History sees how mundane his creator’s real world has become and eventually hatches a plan that forges a massive machine to steal the motivation of the rest of the Earth. It’s a bit complicated, but the gag here is that they go to a factory that makes Rick Sanchez products.

After reporting that Rick plushies were being made in the factory earlier, Rick ends up taking out Story Lord and the villain is thus killed with one of these plushies. Rick gets an ad for the plush itself that notes fans can follow a website URL to purchase one themselves, and Adult Swim made sure curious fans had something to look up to! Sadly, these plushies aren’t actually for sale (they aren’t available in this reality!), but it’s certainly fun to see the show go the extra mile for this joke.

Would you actually buy one of these Rick Sanchez plushies if you had the chance? Let us know all your thoughts on this in the comments! You can even contact me directly about all things anime and other cool stuff @Valdezology on Twitter!

What do you think is Japan’s greatest anime? Hayao Miyazki movies certainly make a ton of money every time one comes out. Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon fairly high rank too. A play holds the manga sales record (and is one of the longest running anime to boot). Many of the most popular cartoons in Japan are also big in the United States: Sailor Moon, Naruto, Bleach… why, even Detective Conan (called here Case closed) finally started gaining audiences thanks to Crunchyroll and Netflix streaming the series.

GAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Still, there is one anime that is one of the biggest hits in Japan that never really caught on in America. Oh, you can legally access the show in the US (which might not be a bad idea considering how good it is) and has been legally available for years. Yet despite many attempts to bring it on and make it a hit, this particular show just never caught on despite rave reviews, strong word-of-mouth from people who saw it, and support. of several large companies. The series in question is slam dunkone of the greatest anime ever to air in America.

What is the Slam Dunk?

the-first-anime-movie-poster-slam-dunk

According to the Crunchyroll website, the story of slam dunk is as follows:

Hanamichi Sakuragi, a freshman at Shohoku High, holds a record for being rejected by 50 girls in middle school. Ever since the last girl turned him down for a guy on the basketball team, Sakuragi has been traumatized by sports.

This is the abbreviated summary. Ultimately, the series is about a teenager who joins a basketball team in order to impress a girl he likes and ends up falling in love with the sport in a way he never expected. The series is known not only for its exhilarating basketball sequences, but also for its warm and lovable characters. Sakuragi starts out as a clueless idiot who plays basketball just to impress a girl, but slowly becomes one of the best players on the team as he falls in love with the sport.

RELATED: Are anime producers losing faith in Netflix?

The team captain is the older brother of the girl Sakuragi loves. He doesn’t think much of this red-haired idiot, but comes to respect him as a great basketball player. As for the girl herself, she initially has eyes for freshman star Rukawa, but comes to find that she may have more in common with “nice boy” Sakuragi. slam dunk is a very unexpected crowd pleaser as it perfectly balances action, romance, comedy and drama. All wrapped up in an epic story about a high school basketball team trying to make it to the championship.

Everyone who watches it instantly understands the appeal of the series. Many even express surprise that more anime fans haven’t seen it. You might think the reason for that might be that the show never got a proper “hit” (pardon the pun) in America. The reality is that slam dunk received more shots than most anime in America. It is constantly being built, but contrary to field of dreamsno one’s coming.

What attempts were made to free him?

anime slam dunk

The first attempt to bring the series was by the late Gutsoon. Entertainment. They licensed the manga and made it a foundational title in their weekly manga anthology. Raijin Comics. The magazine never caught on with the public due to its high cost and weekly publication (not to mention fierce competition from Shounen jumpwhich was wildly successful Yu Gi Oh! and Dragon Ball Z as launch titles). Five volumes of the series were published before ceasing publication.

The manga got a second chance when Viz Media put it on the Shounen jump line up. A few chapters were printed in the magazine before publishing the rest in book form. Although the series was completed, it was never a bestseller, and there are rumors that many early print copies are still available in bookstores across the country despite having ended there. more than five years ago (it is currently not available on the Shounen jump application).

At the level of the show Toei-Animation tried to bring anime to America themselves. They produced a dub for that and all. The DVDs were of poor quality and sold terribly as a result. Another attempt was made by Geneon to continue the series, but that version was canceled as well. Years later, a company called Flatiron Film decided to give the series another shot and released the first 14 episodes on DVD on a Slam Dunk: Season 1, Vol. 1 Release. These episodes were in English and did not contain the original Japanese version, so most die-hard fans didn’t want them and future versions have yet to surface.

Finally, after years of false starts, the entire series has been made available in subtitled format on various streaming sites like Hulu and Amazon. Today, the entire series can be purchased digitally on Amazon Prime, but fans of physical media are out of luck.

Why did he never take?

Slam Dunk anime team

The simple answer is that slam dunk – despite the high quality behind it – is mostly about basketball. Sports manga and anime have always struggled in America because comics and sports tend to appeal to different audiences. Most American kids who read comic books don’t particularly like sports and prefer to read fantasy and superhero stories. Likewise, when was the last time you saw a kid in high school going to baseball practice in the afternoon and attending an anime club on saturdays?

No one is saying there aren’t people who don’t like both, only that it’s very rare that someone will like both (hell, despite superhero movies dominating the box office, almost none of these ticket buyers read the comic books the movies are based on). slam dunk is a big series with frustrating viewership in America, and unless there’s a culture shift in the future about comic book fans starting to do more sports and sports fans reading more comics, a series like slam dunk will always be a hard sell.

In Japan, the series ran for over 100 episodes, had four feature films, sold millions of manga, had merchandise, video games, and countless sporting goods based on it. In America, the books barely crossed the finish line, the anime never sold enough to be finished on disc, and despite the franchise’s prominence in Japan, it’s still virtually unknown in the United States. United. It’s one of those great shows that just might never find an audience. The good news is that after years of struggle, viewers CAN watch the show in its entirety on Crunchyroll (whether this will translate to a large audience at some point is harder to say).

IIt’s Saturday morning, the rain is incessant outside, the TV is on but the remote control can’t be found – it’s probably at the bottom of the couch. You’re stuck watching kids’ cartoons, sucked in by the bright colors and high-stakes storytelling that saves the world. One Piece Film: Red is in that great tradition: a stunningly animated sugar rush, great music, and a strong central story with frequent stretches of outright absurdity.

The One Piece franchise centers on Monkey D Luffey and his pirate crew; this unique adventure introduces us to Uta, a beloved singer from Luffey’s past who turns into a renegade and tries to use her special powers to trap her fans in an alternate universe. Pirates strive to bring it down – and there’s a whole lot more going on as several dozen new characters and subplots sputter and zigzag around without worrying about cohesion. Narrative discipline isn’t the primary concern here, but the central story of Uta and his motivations is emotionally resonant.

A feast for the eyes and ears, each frame is adorned with color and detail. The final showdown is a sensory onslaught and akin to watching a firework display – colors swirl and things explode. There are musical numbers throughout, each accompanied by stunning, rainbow visuals that bring you back when the plot loses you. The songs themselves are wonderful: performed by Japanese musician Ado, they stand up to current charts and justify the idea that Uta is the most popular singer in the world. When focused, this movie really sings, but it takes its time and tests your patience to land on the right notes.

One Piece Film: Red hits theaters November 4.

According to average estimates, there are over 100 million anime movie fans worldwide. No less number prefer gambling entertainment, actively making casino bets on the website https://betinia.com/ie/. At first glance, it may seem that there is no connection between these two types of hobbies. But that’s not really the case. There are several animated films about gambling entertainment. Of course, they will appeal to those who cannot imagine their life without slot machines, roulettes, poker and computer games, and also, perhaps, will help to learn something something new.

Kakegurui: compulsive gambler

Kakegurui is an anime series created by the famous company Netflix. Despite the fact that there are only 12 episodes, it is very popular with fans of an extraordinary genre. The series is about a school, the main purpose of which is to train students who will later become gambling professionals. An interesting storyline, beautiful graphics, sometimes even inappropriate jokes – all this will certainly appeal to those who like to make a casino bet.

death parade

This rather extraordinary anime series will attract those who are not averse to speculating about the philosophical nature of gaming entertainment. The plot takes place in the afterlife, but there are no traditional concepts here. The rules are games of chance. The story itself is an observation by a bartender at one of the establishments playing games between people fighting over what awaits them in the afterlife. The loser is forever destined for emptiness, while the winner is reincarnated as a supreme being.

Kaiji: the ultimate player

Kaiji: The Ultimate Gambler is one of the most popular gambling entertainment movies in anime technique. He appeared on the screens in 2009, and has already managed to find a large army of fans. The anime’s main character is a young man named Kaiji. He participates in fairly risky games of chance. But Kaiji not only relies on luck, but also uses various psychological tricks.

Gamer legend: Tetsuya

This series is over 20 years old. The plot takes place in the middle of the last century. A society appeared that preferred not to work, but to solve its needs (for example, in the same food or payment of payments) through tariffs. A traveler by the name of Tetsuya was considered a leader, as each of his casino bets was successful. Nevertheless, there was someone who was able to compete with him.

Saki

This anime, released in 2009, includes 25 episodes. It is about a schoolgirl named Saki Miyanga, who firmly rejects the game of mahjong (it is one of the most popular in Eastern countries). However, even if she does not like this entertainment, the girl finds talent in herself – she can come up with winning combinations that others do not see. As a result, she begins to feel sympathy for mahjong, and then begins to participate in high-level competitions, beating everyone else.

an out

One Outs is a series about the prodigy Toua Tokuchi, who plays perfectly not only baseball, but also the game. The plot tells whether it is possible to combine these two hobbies and, if so, what it can become for a young man.

Kaiji: The Last Survivor

Kaiji: The Ultimate Survivor tells the story of a player who, alas, is unlucky. Due to financial difficulties, he was forced to get on a boat and gamble in a casino there. However, things are not going as well as we would like. Kaiji is bound to make the right choice that will determine his future life.

Of course, none of the anime series will be able to unequivocally teach how to make a bet in the casino. Nevertheless, for lovers of gambling such films are suitable. It may not be possible to get a lot of new information on the subject, but no one bothers to strengthen the knowledge of the Japanese language.
