BUTTERFLY RELEASE: Survivors of Suicide Loss will host the second annual Butterfly Release in memory of those who have committed suicide. The event will take place on World Suicide Prevention Day on Saturday in the Village Square in Brookfield. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and the ceremony begins at 11 a.m. The ceremony includes the reading of the names submitted by the participants. Trumbull County LOSS invites all individuals and families bereaved by suicide to join in this memorial event. BACK TO SCHOOL: Pride and Joy Today LLC will present a Back to School Celebration, in conjunction with the New Jerusalem Fellowship and the McPherson Foundation, from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at Renaissance Place, 1948 Palmyra Road, Warren.

Price and Joy Today LLC., in conjunction with Trumbull County African American Achievers, Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership and Community Volunteer Council, will also present “Think clean and go green” a citywide cleanup day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Volunteers should meet at the Fast Lane Food Store, 2650 W. Market St., to get started.

HORSE AND PONY DRIVING: An all-breed horse and pony driving event will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Brookfield Saddle Club show ground, 696 Bedford Road. The event will take place rain or shine. There will be food stalls. There is no charge for spectators. The event is sponsored by the Ohio Welsh Pony Association. For more information, call Paul at 330-469-4597.

CLEANUP DAY: The Township of Newton will host a Cleanup Day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Township Administration Building, 4410 Newton Falls-Bailey Road. This is a service for Newton Township residents with ID required for proof of residency. No tires, electronic waste, chemicals or hazardous waste or commercial waste will be accepted.

MOSQUITO SPRAY: The Township of Howland will have a mosquito spray from dusk to 5 a.m. Monday and Tuesday. Alexander Pest Control was commissioned to spray mosquitoes. In case of rain, the spraying will take place the following evening. Residents are encouraged to close their widows, keep pets indoors and do not leave food outdoors while spraying.

POOL PAWTY: The Youngstown Jewish Community Center will host a Pool Pawty on Saturday at the Logan Campus, 3245 Logan Way, Liberty. Small dogs will be allowed to wade in the pool from 9am to 10.30am while large dogs will be allowed from 10.45am to 12.15pm. All dogs must be up to date with their shots. No humans will be allowed in the pool. The cost is $15 per family or an item donation to the Trumbull County Animal Welfare League. A wish list of needed items is available at jccyoungstown.org
