In his speech, the Palestinian representative to the United Nations warned against the policy of settlement expansion and the announcement by the brutal occupiers of plans to build 2,100 settlement units in Jerusalem- East and in parts of the occupied territories in order to undermine the integrity of Palestinian land and drastically reduce the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem.

He stressed that the international community, in particular the Security Council and the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, were fulfilling their responsibilities and using all the means and measures provided for by international law to hold Israel, the occupier, responsible under international law.
