Police work with local leaders to immunize residents of East Jerusalem

Israeli police worked with the Sur Baher neighborhood council and community volunteers to set up a coronavirus vaccination point in the Sur Baher neighborhood in east Jerusalem on Saturday.

Hundreds of Jerusalemites came to the site for vaccination.

“The Israel Police are a police force for everyone and their actions are aimed at ensuring the personal safety, public peace and health of every citizen of the country,” the Israel Police said in a statement.

Some 43% of Jerusalem were vaccinated on Saturday evening. The vaccination rate among Arab Israelis remains relatively low, with just 53% of the Arab Israeli population vaccinated. Among young Arabs, the rate is even lower, estimated at around 20%, according to Walla! new.
