The Frinton Women’s Institute takes on a new lease of life
A SEASIDE community group has found new life after expanding its offer and giving its members the opportunity to learn new skills.
The Frinton Women’s Institute typically holds monthly meetings attended by specialist speakers who speak on a variety of topics and lunch dates.
The organization also conducts regular litter collections and works on community campaigns and projects and in partnership with Walton Foodbank.
Her patterns now expand the group’s horizons by introducing craft classes that will cover sewing, embroidery, knitting, flower arranging and more.
Later this year they will also launch a gardening club for green-fingered members and even a new golf club and walking and cycling group.
Jan Holyoake of Frinton’s Women’s Institute said: “Our membership is growing and the group is a great way to make friends.
“Whether you have lived here a long time or have recently moved to the area, you will be warmly welcomed.
“We also have several special events coming up this year as we celebrate our centenary.
“So why not give us a try, there couldn’t be a better time to join us – we’re so much more than Jam and Jerusalem.”
